「執念」是一個人做事的態度、處事的哲學，意即執著自己的信念。但過分執著時，就變成固執或鑽牛角尖。過分執著對創作者來說不見得是件好事，但是對於我本身而言，「執念」卻是我所欠缺的，希望能保持創作初心、堅持理念。

我對「象」的解讀是作品的外在美，就像禮品不可獲缺的精美包裝，但其內容物才是更重要的。「象」常被定義為具象、抽象、意象，但藝術家的創作發想大至天地宇宙、小至螻蟻虛無，數以萬計的造形豈能輕易的被概括，就像顏色不單只是基本的三原色，而是擁有無限可能，只是方便觀賞者及創作者對外在表象的描繪及分析，不足以去表達一件藝術品外在的完整性及豐富性。

「執念不執象」套用在我的創作論述當中，即執著信念，著重作品內在的涵意，而不過分執著於表象。我在就讀東華藝術設計系研究所之前，就是以石雕作為職業，更期許在畢業之後，能在作品中結合石雕家的手藝、藝術家的思維。創作內容將結合作者對人、事、物、及大自然的體悟，主要表達作品的發想，作者內心的感受，強調間接的隱喻而非直接的單純視覺傳達。

“Obsession” describes an attitude and the philosophy of live for people, we will become obstinate people when we over obsessed. This will be disappointing for art-creators if we be obstinate, but for me, it is what I defective, however; hope that I can still stay true to myself and keep the faith.

“Image” as the surface, or external of art-work for me, it likes decoration of gifts, but the content is most important. It usually defined as “figurative”; “abstract”, and “imagery”. However; artists’ creative ideas always beyond people’s imagination, it could be whole universe, or from ants on the ground…etc. Like the colors, it is not just red; green, and blue these tricolors, it means infinity possibilities. It might not be able to present an artwork’s integrity and implication by a convenience basic description or analyzed artworks.

In my creative dissertation, I focused on persistent belief, to emphasize inside of the meaning for artwork, but not too persistent about the surface or modeling. I wanted to be a professional stone sculptor as my career before I study at the institute of National Dong Hwa University. Therefore, I truly wish that my art-creative-work could combined as professional stone sculptors’ skills; techniques, and cogitation. This artwork will combine my apperception of everything around me, natural, environment, people…etc., to externalize the procedure of my thinking and feeling, to focus on mediate metaphor but a directly visual communication.
