The author has been concerned about and participating in theatre for over 17 years. Besides being an actress, I also found that I am able to achieve the goal of being either a director or a playwright. The purpose of this research is to conduct a performing project, Let’s play a market show (2015), in Mei-Lun traditional market, located in Mei-Lun District, Hualien. Throughout this project, the author has accomplished a variety of preparations, detailed productions and ultimately completed the performance within our teamwork. This research is also focusing on the interactions and relationship between Art and Space. From a series of performance based on the theory of Environmental Theater and their developments of Performance Arts history of two different locations, Macau and Taiwan, performing everywhere now seems to be a current trend in theatre. Inspired by the concept and having taken part in a few performances in public, Let’s play a market show (2015) aimed to create an experimental performance. As being the director and the supervisor of this project, I assumed it could be a challenging task but an inspiring landmark of producing a performance in a traditional market with a group of young actors and actresses who were children and amateur from Hualien. |
