This study examined the effect of WM training on English learning performance and motivation in elementary pupils. Therefore, this study assumed that students may increase WM capacity, English achievement test score, and then learning motivation via WM training. There were 51 students in elementary school participated in this study. Using quasi-experimental design, those students were divided into two groups, experiment group and control group by their original class. The experiment group took WM training for 4 times and in contrast, the control group did not have any training during the period from pretest to posttest. After the WM training program, the experiment group shows significant improvement on WM task, but not on English achievement test and learning motivation. At last, this study presents and discusses the influence of working memory training to each variables, and then make a suggestion for the future studies.
