鼓手Art Blakey(1919-1990)為著名的爵士鼓手，由他領班的樂團The Jazz Messengers更是代表性的硬式咆勃樂樂團，他們的編曲與演奏方式影響了當代很多爵士演奏的觀念，且目前爵士樂在台灣的研究並不興盛，尤其針對爵士樂中爵士鼓的演奏更是稀少，近幾年爵士樂在台灣越來越受重視，許多學校開始有了相關課程甚至系所，所以筆者決定針對在爵士樂中爵士鼓的演奏作為研究方向，並選擇最具代表性的鼓手Art Blakey作為研究題材，收集Art Blakey相關資料，以及研究分析曲目<Infra-Rae>、<Nica's Dream>、<It's You or No One>、<Ecaroh>均取自著名專輯”The Jazz Messengers”(1956)，藉由分析Art Blakey的爵士鼓演奏了解Art Blakey的演奏風格，希望藉此研究能幫助對於爵士樂的爵士鼓演奏有興趣的研究或學習者。
第一章包含研究動機及方法，第二章收集了Art Blakey相關資料，第三章則是進行四首曲目的分析，第四章為本次研究的結論。

Art Blakey (1919-1990) was a legendary jazz drummer and his famous hard bop band “The Jazz Messenger” influenced on the modern jazz deeply. The study of jazz in Taiwan is rare, especially jazz drumming. However there are more and more people notice the importance of jazz music recently, some universities start adding courses about jazz and even have master’s degree of jazz studies. In order to help who interested in jazz or study in jazz, I decide to study four tracks, <Infra-Rae>、<Nica's Dream>、<It's You or No One>、<Ecaroh> from the album “The Jazz Messengers” and analyze Art Blakey drumming style.
Chapter one includes research motive and research method. Chapter two presents analysis of four tracks, <Infra-Rae>、<Nica's Dream>、<It's You or No One>、<Ecaroh>. Chapter three presents research conclusion
