I have been encountering confusion as well as imagination regarding the concept of “Emptiness”. For instance, looking at my own works of stone carving often makes me feel infinite about and touched by the artistic concept of emptiness, and therefore the origin of the abovementioned fascination has become attractive and been requesting further exploration as far as I am concerned. Since inspirations are formed from the imagination in the four-dimensional space and creations come from the implementation of corresponding inspirations in the physical reality of the three-dimensional space, the author concluded that her making use of personal experience, both practical and aesthetic, to not only form a concrete structure for but also vividly express the thoughts in her mind indeed illustrated the concept of [transforming] from virtuality to reality. Having combed through the teachings of Buddhism, the thoughts of Lao Tzu and scientific evidence, this thesis further probed deeply into the meaning of “Transformation of Knowledge to Wisdom” and “The Tao that can be told of is not the Absolute Tao; the Names that can be given are not the Absolute Name”. Similarly, having undergone her own debate between senses and logics and turned it into the core element for inspirational thinking, the artist intended to taste a little bit the taste of leaving confusion for enlightenment. In short, after acquiring understanding of both Buddhism and Taoism, recognition as well as imagination of dimensional spaces, insights from the augments between science and Buddhism, and experiencing the states of superposition and collapse in quantum mechanics, the artist has been aware that consciousness can change the phenomenon in the material world, and that is the real face of the objective world we can see. Since there are countless possible superimposed states within this objective world, as long as the subjective consciousness is involved, consciousness is able to facilitate the transfer of material world from uncertainty to certainty, i.e. subjective consciousness creates the state in which we see the objective world; hence, the world is created out of [our] imagination.
Using both stone carving and transparent materials as the form for her creative works and three series, ‘Imaginary and Real Series’, ‘Invisible Existence Series’ and ‘False and Illusory Series’, as the main themes for her exploration and research, the artist successfully unfolded both the space for imagination and that for inspiration, transformed the concepts and helped with the improvement of telepathy. Furthermore, departing from the foundation of basic context and dialectics, and having interpreted all the possibilities derived from the codependency between real images and virtual images, the artist conducted her research upon appearance and modeling via sculptures.
