本研究由對「隱形病人」、「逛醫生」等現象的好奇出發，在知識論上秉持後現代解構主流論述的精神並依循社會建構視角，取徑敘事分析，以期經由身體和語言雙重軸線的交織，一探心身症狀個體如何由自身經驗描述勾勒出獨特的生命故事樣貌。

本研究欲探討下述議題：心身症狀個體的主體經驗與心理歷程、通過敘說和詮釋所顯現的本質與特性，及症狀與社會文化系統交互運作之下之影響。以立意取樣方式，邀請三位症狀各異的研究參與者受訪，採Labov的敘事分析法架構進行拆解分析，再將「成長與家庭文化背景」、「心身症狀經驗」、「人際感受」、「醫療經驗」與「因應與未來想法」等局部面向相互串聯，整合為跨單元敘事圖，並在討論中呈現其故事主題和觀點上的移動變化。

在結果討論中發現：受訪者於內在經歷自我概念重構，而外在則深受醫源效應的正負向影響。經驗內涵環繞、層疊五種「失」的感受，其核心概念可具化為「孤島經驗」，且在漂流求生過程中，顯現由混沌性敘事往探索性敘事發展的徵兆。在社會文化面向，展現出角色衝突勉力維持動態平衡的追求，而在社會位置上，傾向期待「與病共存」但仍具社會功能。最後提出在未來研究方向及實務應用領域的建議。本研究除期盼對心身症狀者內在世界更進一步探索，在易受忽略的艱難處境中增添一條理解途徑之外，亦希望能以故事記述，為受訪者的獨特歷程與持續前行的努力留存具見證性的意義。

Stemmed from a curiosity about phenomena such as “invisible patients” and “doctor shopping,” this study adopts the narrative analysis approach and follows the deconstructive position to dominate discourse based on postmodernism. From the perspective of social constructionism, it attempts to explore how individuals with psychosomatic symptoms describe their own stories, with the entanglement between the biaxial text of “body” and “language.”

This study aims to investigate the following topics:
1. The subjective experiences and psychological process of individuals with psychosomatic symptoms.
2. The essence and traits of psychosomatic symptoms revealed through narration and interpretation.
3. The impact of the interactions between symptoms and social-cultural system.

This study applies the method of interview to three target subjects with different symptoms, and represents their stories with Labov’s narrative analysis. While compiling the reports into an integrated diagram, this study demonstrates their story themes, also the shifting perspectives in the discussion.

Result and Discussion: This study finds that the interviewees’ inner experience shows a reconstruction of self-concept, while the external level is both positively and negatively affected by the iatrogenic effects. Furthermore, their illness and suffering experiences include the five-type emotions of “lost,” which can be embodied as a core concept, “island experience.” In the process of drifting, there are several indications of the development from “chaos narrative” to “quest narrative”. In social and cultural aspects, it shows the conflict of roles and the striving to balance the dynamics. In terms of their position in society, the expectation is to “live with the symptoms” but remain functional.

Finally, this study provides suggestions and implications for future investigations on counseling work. In addition to further explore the inner world of the individuals with psychosomatic symptoms, this study also expects to add more diversified ways in the field to understand the tough situations that are often neglected. It is hoped that those stories explored through this study can represent the interviewees’ unique experiences, and the narrative will bear witness to the interviewees’ distinctive journey and their continuous efforts to move forward.
