本研究旨在探討當一個人置身於臨床心理的學習者位置時,如何理解精神照護機構內的住民。這裡的理解,指的是作為臨床心理的學習者的我與住民互動與相處背後,反映著什麼樣的理解。目前主流的機神醫學和臨床心理介入方式,主要以診斷和對症狀的處理為主。但卻鮮少反思自身介入方式背後,對個案涉及何種理解。因此,本研究將焦點放在臨床心理學習者對個案的理解,如何可能或不可能地回應個案的經驗。
本研究透過Gee的論述分析的方法,檢視臨床心理學習者的活動紀錄,並企圖由此分析臨床心理學習者理解精神長照機構住民的經驗與歷程。這樣的理解涉及了作為臨床心理學習者的我與個案彼此之間的關係、身份和實踐:「與住民互動的我」在現場中試圖理解住民,並與住民互動。在互動之後,「紀錄作者的我」以文字劃定了與住民互動背後的理解範疇,並打造了彼此的關係和身份;而住民則成為相對於文字實踐中的「受格」。最後,「研究者的我」則以文字所劃定的理解範疇為主題進行研究,並反思文字背後所顯露的主體問題,並探究其返身性議題。
This study aims to explore: how to understand the residents in mental health institutions when a person is in the position of a learner of clinical psychology. The understanding here refers to: as a learner of clinical psychology, what kind of understanding is reflected behind the interaction with the residents. Current mainstream psychiatry and clinical psychological intervention mainly focus on diagnosis and treatment of symptoms. However, it is rare to reflect on what kind of understanding behind practices and intervention. Therefore, this study focuses on the clinical psychology learners’ understanding of clients and how it is possible or impossible to respond to the experience of clients.

This study uses Gee's discourse analysis to examine the records written by a learner of clinical psychology. It attempts to analyze the experience and process of the learner’s understanding of residents in mental health institutions. This understanding involves the relationship, identity and practice between me as a clinical psychology learner and residents in mental health institutions。 When I interacted with the residents, I tried to understand and interact with the residents. After interaction, I delineated the scope of understanding behind the interactions and built their relationship and identity by writing records. Meanwhile, the residents became the "object" in the practice of writing, and they are therefore in contrast to me as a “actor” in my writing records. Finally, When I tried to study what happened in the process of understanding residents, my focus defined by the text. It revealed the “subject” issue behind the text and study. Besides, It also explore the issue of “reflexivity”.
