Each year, Hualien County holds the school academic test, though it can allow teachers to understand the blind spots of their teaching, find out ways to improve teaching methods, and use remedial teaching for students in the later stages of learning achievement. However, it also finds that excessive emphasis on practice. In order to clarify the predicaments of the students’ ability test in school and the strategies for improvement, the study hopes to use case schools served by researchers to explore the academic performance of elementary schools in Hualien County. The goals of this study include the following four points: 1. To understand the implementing predicament of basic test in elementary schools; 2. To analyze the improvement strategies of implementing predicament. 3. To analyze the fit strategies of implementing predicament when dilemmas happened; 4. Summarize the conclusions of the research and make recommendations as a reference for the implementation of basic academic tests. The researchers consisted of nine individuals involved in case school. The research process used literature analysis, interview questionnaires, Analytic Hierarchy Process, and focus discussions to conduct multiple rounds of interactions. The analysis and induction of quantitative data and qualitative analysis was conducted. Finally, the analysis results were presented to the workshop members to confirm again, forming a consensus. The conclusions are as follows: 1. Among the nine predicaments of the Competency Assessment held in Hualien County, “the teacher needs to be evaluated and to write the class progress plan afterwards” is the work dilemma that the workshop members are most concerned about and urgently need to deal with; 2. Among the feasible improvement strategies for the dilemma of the aforementioned assessment, "the well-judged interpretation of the assessment results is to identify the learning problems instead of judging the teachers" is what the workshop members take as the first priority; 3. With the implementation of the software analysis selected by the experts, school nurses in the workplace are able to find the most suitable strategy to solve a certain dilemma; 4. The focus group discussion can be employed to achieve consensus and to evaluate as well as modify the process of the revision analysis; 5. The development process of the present study can be used as a reference for other schools to check the existing dilemmas and find feasible solutions. The study also provides suggestions for the Department of Education, case schools, case school teachers, and future researchers. At the end of the study, researcher’s suggestions were proposed for the reference of related research in other schools. |
