This thesis aims to explore Akira Kurosawa's aesthetic thoughts on films, and the purpose of the research is threefold: The first is to analyze the historical background and ideological origin of Kurosawa’s works. The second is to interpret the aesthetic connotation of Akira Kurosawa's films. The third is to explore the aesthetic enlightenment of akira Kurosawa's film aesthetics and to express the influence and enlightenment of Akira Kurosawa to researchers. This research will use the "hermeneutics" method to analyze and interpret the aesthetic expression in Akira Kurosawa's films, and propose the enlightenment of aesthetic education. Akira Kurosawa's thought originated from the crystallization of eastern and western cultures, and was deeply influenced by the spirit of Japanese Bushido, the expression of Western films and the human thoughts of Western literature and art. Based on the ideological origin, the connotation of Kurosawa's film aesthetics is "social criticism" and "heroism". The former is to look squarely into the evil and fatalistic sources of the environment, protest and destroy the social chaos, and find solutions. The value of the latter comes from the interaction with the environment, which points to the choice of good made by the individual after facing up to the evil in reality. Only by strengthening his will can he reveal himself and become his hero. Finally, after taking kurosawa's aesthetic connotation and aesthetic education concept into account, the enlightenment of aesthetic education is drawn: the purpose of aesthetic education is to look directly at the ugliness of reality, to perceive the duality of human nature and to adhere to the will of the individual, to become his own hero; The methods of aesthetic education are "breaking rigid habits", "creating the possibility of imagination" and "the attitude of awareness of aesthetic appreciation", so that individuals have the aesthetic attitude and free will to make choices independently.
