Covering financial, construction, telecommunications, petrochemical, food, textile, cement, automobile, computer information and many other industries, the influence of
Taiwan's top ten families is way beyond your imagination.

In our daily lives, we are almost inseparable from the companies which are operated by their family members. Reviewing the past development history of Taiwan, these family businesses have a tremendous and significant impact on the economic contribution to our country.

Based on social cohesion, elite theory and socioemotional wealth theory, this study attempts to explain how the enterprises of Taiwan's top ten families use the role of board members to strengthen its operational performances, and interpret how they take advantage of influence to facilitate the continuity of their families.

Key words: Family Business, Interlock, Social Cohesion, Elite Theory, Socioemotional Wealth Theory.
