The subject of the thesis is about a series of works from the artist’s long trip and life journey in Hualian for three years and in Sichuan for half a year. Because of the experience of her travel, those sceneries turned into her subjective feeling and imaginable connection for her works to show a wild power from the inside out. This process is between movements, arrivals and returns, mixed with realities, dreams, intuitions and imaginations. All of these are like overlapping so that her works can have a full explanation.
These works from 2018 to 2021 split into four topics. “Wan-Wu” a section of contemporary calligraphies; “He-Fang” photographs which were taken from the trip in China; “Yue-Ye” multiple exposures by negatives, post-processing with contemporary calligraphies to give a new significance of exposure effect; “Leng-Mao” showing her open-ended inner world with multiple exposures. The essence of photography is to keep the fleeting moment, the calligraphies not only show the real memories but also give the opportunity to recreate the things in her mind and the multiple exposure is for the completeness of memories and helped her to remember how the site was when she was there.
These four topics present empty places, no one but herself. Those are like personal conversations between her inner and outside world by changing and expanding different places and areas, her experiences into her works make a higher level achievement of tugging at the heartstrings.
