The purpose of this study is to discuss aesthetic value and concept of Confucian, and how to integrate into the calligraphic aesthetics. Main facets of aesthetics promoted by the governmental education project in Taiwan recently, are analyzed and applied in this study, which include color, texture, proportion, structure, construction, and composition . Moreover, the Confucius concept of aesthetics is compared, analyzed, and applied as the theoretical base of the study. The village of Kongdang at Jiangsu Province in Mainland China is taking as the research site from Nov 2017. In order to understand how Confucius descendants living there could implement art learning through the Confucius aesthetics, the research focus includes: First, how to enhance the aesthetic experiences of the young village people; Second, how to facilitate the cultural learning and transmission within the Confucian aesthetics and humanistic thoughts. A set of teaching activities, using the calligraphic text, Eulogy for My Nephew, written by the Chinese Calligrapher Zhen-Qing Yan, as example, are designed for village leaners to experience aesthetics of calligraphic and the Confucian value. Research methods of interview and participatory observation are used, to understand whether such experience makes Chinese characters writing to be a catalyst of cultivating artistic conservation and aesthetic quality. Accordingly, the research finds through the learning experiences of calligraphy, the participants appreciate the meaning and humanistic knowledge of the Confucian aesthetics. Moreover, the research result bears referential value for the proposition of enhancing cultural quality.
