《波群延遲》為一本各篇互有關連的長篇小說，每篇約一萬到一萬五千字，三個章節，共十篇，全文約十二萬字。
流行音樂、中港台問題、歷史事件和科技發展都是定位時代的指標，每個人都活在相同的時間軸上，卻會因事件經歷的年紀而出現不同的人生轉折，進而形塑出不同的世代景觀。
本書的主要命題為世代風景、世代差異與世代衝突。敘事線往前可到一九六四年，往後可到二○三五年，兩條主線一遠一近、一慢一快，除了梳理當代八、九年級生的生活困境與突破，同時也以流行音樂串聯近三十年的港人離散。
