The purpose of this thesis is to explore the lead-lag relations of Taiwan’s business cycles to the sales values of the Dairy-Related Industries and the sales values for the six major products, including 'fresh milk', 'milk powder ', 'flavored milk', 'fermented milk', 'ice cream ' and 'other dairy' from January 1993 to December 2018. To compare them with Taiwan's business cycles, we apply the business indicators in Taiwan published by the National Development Council and the TEJ as well as the highest and lowest points of the stock market index. The results of the research are as follows: First, around the peaks, the production volumes of the one manufacturing industries,'flavored milk',' milk powder', reached their peaks first, which can be used as the leading indexes around their business peaks. Second, around the troughs, the production volumes of one manufacturing industry,' fresh milk','fermented milk' reached their troughs first, which could be used as the leading indexes around the business troughs. Third, around the business cycle reach the peaks and troughs: the percentage difference in the six values of the six categories 'fresh milk', is Non-essential between 2.54% and 3.2%. If the economic forecast is incorrect, the impact will be small. Around the business cycle reach the peaks and troughs: the percentage difference in the six values of the six categories 'other dairy', is necessity between 8.77% and 12.33%. If the forecast of the prosperity is wrong, it will have a great impact. |
