This study was to explore the relationships between perceived coaches’ leadership behavior and perceived motivational climate for Track and Field Player of the elementary school in Taipei City. Researcher sent out questionnaires and the recovery rate was about 82%. Besides, the study was used the following statistical methods: descriptive statistics, independent-sample t test, one-way ANOVA and Pearson correlation to analyze research result. The results were as follows: (1) The leadership behavior of perceived coaches was based on training and instruction, and the motivation depended on their task orientation. (2) The players of the sixth grades students were easier to realize the difference of coaches’ leadership behavior. Besides, the male players could perceive the autocratic behavior of coaches easily than female players. (3) The better competition result the players got more training times they spend. Compared to other players, they were easier to realize the training and instruction behavior of coaches. (4) The foundation of the physical education class and the profession of coaches enhanced their perception of training and instruction behavior. (5) The excellent or senior grades students were easier to realize the task-involving climate of their team breaking through the limit. (6) The male and skilled players were easier to realize the ego-involving climate of their team pursuing their goal. (7) The players training goal were influence on the different area and the difficulty of competition. It depends on ego-involving climate. (8) Training and instruction, democratic behavior, social support and positive feedback prefer task-involving climate. Automatic behavior and ego-involving are proportionate.
