Taiwan, the beautiful island nurtures us, has an isolated ecology and rich landforms. In this minuscule island, there are 131 water systems. Also because of geographical isolation, there are 64 native species of freshwater fish which have evolved into more than 30 endemic species. Such a rich ecology of freshwater fish makes us proud. In the era of Taiwan's pursuit of economic development, and people abuse nature resource and destroys the land that nurtures us. We have forgotten the principle of our ancestors- taking everything in the world, and we neglect to respect our world. The precious native species of freshwater fish in Taiwan are in danger of extinction due to human destruction and consume these resources without restraint. If we don't raise people's attention, one day our posterity can only get to know the fish that once swam in Taiwan's streams through the illustrated book. This research applies action research to combine research and practice, starting with literature review and then through practical teaching and reflective criticism to construct a brief lesson plan. Collect the advice on course content from expert interviews, co-teaching teacher interviews, peer interviews, etc.. from the recording of seven trial teaching sessions. The teaching plan was revised based on interviewees’ advice, the researcher's course reflection and the feedback from the students. This lesson plan includes four parts: "Fish in Hualien Streams", "Aquatic Plants in Hualien Streams", "Environmental Problems of Streams", and "Guarding Our Streams". Starting from Hualien native freshwater fish and aquatic plants to the environmental problems of streams and how to protect the streams. This lesson’s goal is to let the students take action to protect the streams. I pray that this lesson plan will let the children on this land understand how gorgeous the stream ecology is in our hometown, and we need to cherish and protect this ecology.
