The meaning of painting has continuously deviated from the mainstream of art history, even lamenting its death multiple times. However, despite that, there are still many creators and courses in today's art market and academies that focus on painting as the primary medium of creation. In Taiwan's education system, creators often use painting, the most accessible form, as their main creative genre. They combine various creative methods learned during their studies, attempting to find the most suitable creative approach within the diverse definitions of painting today.
The creators in this article employ the concepts of 'representation, appropriation, and simulation' in their artistic creation and presentation. They analyze the differences in form and narrative in their works from different periods while examining the context of their artistic practice. They aim to synthesize and reconstruct a painting style that aligns with the creators' vision, while also hoping that painting, in this era of prevalent curatorial practices, can stimulate viewers' questions and reflections through more engaging exhibition methods.
