Perspectives such as “Everything looks good on skinny” or “There are no ugly women, only lazy ones” has had a significant impact on the public due to the influence of mainstream values. For a long time, the younger generations have blindly followed these types of beliefs, and unconscious self-examinations has become one of the instinctive activities in their life. We all live in a society where everyone is scrutinized, also, the way we see ourselves are greatly influenced by social norms and third-party evaluations. The majority of people go on an excessive diet in order to meet the society’s “Aesthetic Standard”. However, being in this value loop has resulted in an increasing number of people becoming lost, including me. The pandemic that erupted in 2019 altered the way we engage with one another. For safety concerns, we must maintain a social distance and prevent direct touch. The biggest impact that the Post-covid Era had on human is that space between individuals has been redefined since quarantine is required after infection. As a result, this provides a chance for people to shorten the self-distance and increases the time to get alone. During the pandemic, people get to communicate to themselves more, which helps us to figure out the image of ourselves and who we genuinely are. In the last two years, I start to dissect the chaos for my pursuit of appearance during the process re-examining myself, and turned all the thoughts and feelings into creative inspiration. Through the exhibition, I tidied up all my inner voice and sought for my self-worth, used pottery creation as the medium to express myself. Ting Yeh Hsin solo exhibition: The journey of finding my true self is the creation of my reflection after the pandemic. On the way finding out my self-identity, I endowed a new definition for myself out of the ordinary.
