This study employs questionnaire survey to investigate the current situation and the relationship between acculturative stress and attitude toward seeking professional psychological help among a sample of 154 international students at National Dong Hwa University. Additionally, international students’ gender, age, the length of stay, perceived language ability, and academic performance are considered in terms of their acculturative stress and attitude toward seeking professional psychological help. Results suggest that the degree of acculturative stress is positively correlated with the length of stay. The attitude toward seeking professional psychological help is positively correlated with perceived English ability and academic performance but negatively correlated with the level of comfortable communicating in Chinese. According to the findings, the possible strategies for counseling interventions for international students in Taiwan and the suggestions for future research are discussed.
