This research integrates a design thinking method that focuses on the needs of users and gradually seeks solutions step by step, and integrates it into the high school home economics "food planning and production" course to cultivate students' home economics literacy. The purpose of this study is to explore the implementation process, effects, difficulties and reflections of integrating design thinking into high school home economics literacy-oriented curriculum, so as to facilitate teacher to revise and develop the curriculum. In this action research, it is implemented in the home economics class of a high school in the east. There are 40 senior high school students participated. The researcher integrates the steps of design thinking:” Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test” into the curriculum, which is combined with the content of home economics, and carries out the theme of "food planning and production". A total of 11 courses are designed and implemented. This topic runs in two cycles ,one unit each in the first semester and one in the second semester. The methods of data collection in this research include worksheets, final reports, mutual evaluation forms of final reports, course self-evaluation forms, semi-structured interviews, video recordings, and teacher reflection notes. After sorting and analysis, the research results are as follows: 1.The integration of design thinking into the curriculum should set performance tasks that are close to students' life situations or needs. 2.In order to make students closer to users, the same group of students can be regarded as users. 3.Design thinking integration courses should provide prior knowledge and scaffolding to facilitate the cultivation of knowledge and literacy. Finally, the researchers reflect on the fact that worksheets should be served as scaffolding for the process, but not the evaluation of results. Design thinking is a kind of mindset and tools. Integrated into a course could focus on how to guide the process of applied design thinking, and to have more empathy and care for others. If teachers want to integrate design thinking into the curriculum, it is suggested that students should learn prior knowledge and ability, design appropriate performance tasks, and then use appropriate design thinking tools as scaffolding to guide learning.
