This paper provides an understanding of the relationship between the Gross Domestic Product and how universal health care contributes to economic growth. The variables that are mentioned in this paper are life expectancy, health care expenditure, out-of-pocket payments and gross domestic product. The economic growth would be measured using Gross Domestic Product, using an annual data sample between 1995 to 2014. Linear regression was used as the statistical technique to analyse the data. This paper shows that OECD countries that have universal health coverage are accompanied with economic growth.
